Google menu checker
TL;DRA Google menu checker reads the public menu URL you paste and reports what that page returns. It checks the HTTP status, whether the response is HTML or a PDF, the mobile viewport tag, the page title, whether the text looks like a menu, how much text is there, and whether the page includes Restaurant, Menu, or MenuItem structured data. It does not sign in to Google, it does not read a Google Business Profile, and it does not look at Google Maps.
Paste the address you would put in the menu link, not a Google address and not a homepage. If the menu is still a PDF, the PDF menu to QR code menu guide is the import. Adding the link is Google Business Profile menu link. Changing the page later is update the menu on Google Maps. Previewing a menu you build here is free. Publishing it is $29 a month.

The check runs on our server, once, against the https address you paste. A pass on HTTP status means the server answered in the 200 range. HTML means the file is a page, not a PDF and not some other download. The viewport check looks for a meta viewport tag with width=device-width, which is what a phone needs to lay the page out. The title check reads the title element and shows you the text. It does not grade whether the title is good.
Menu-like text means at least three lines that pair words with a price. Text length is a character count of the visible text, and 200 characters is the line we treat as enough to be more than an empty shell. Structured data is read from JSON-LD script blocks only. Restaurant, Menu, and MenuItem are separate rows. A MenuItem row passes when at least one dish is marked up. The price row passes when at least one of those dishes includes an offers price. If a block of JSON-LD cannot be parsed, that fact is in the detail, and the missing types fail.
What the checker cannot see
It cannot see whether the menu link on your Google Business Profile is the URL you pasted, is broken, or was rejected. That field lives inside your Google account. We do not have your login, and we do not scrape Google. A passing checklist is not a Maps ranking and it is not a Google score.
It cannot see a menu that the browser draws only after JavaScript runs. The fetch reads the HTML the server sent. If that HTML is almost empty, the text checks fail, and the detail says so. It cannot see a page that refuses this request, sits behind a password, or redirects to a private network. It does not open Google hosts at all, including a menu file stored on a Google address.
It does not upload your menu, store the page, or change anything on it. Closing the tab drops the result. Building a replacement menu and previewing it on a phone are free. The public address, the QR code, and a PDF of your own menu are the paid plan, $29 a month or $199 a year per venue.
What to do with a fail
A PDF fail means the link is a file. Import it, publish a page, and paste the page. The steps are turn a PDF menu into a QR code menu. A missing viewport or a missing title is a fix on the page you control. Missing Restaurant, Menu, or MenuItem data means a machine can read the words but not the menu structure. DigitalMenuKit writes that structure on a published menu, from the dishes you entered, and it does not invent dishes.
If the status is not a success, the rest of the list is only telling you the page did not load. Fix the address before you read anything else. Then paste the working page into the menu link yourself. We still do not sign in to Google.
