How to Change Your Restaurant Menu on Google Maps
TL;DRTo change your restaurant menu on Google Maps, edit the menu your listing already links to, and publish. If the listing points at a page you control, the next guest who taps Menu can open the new price. If it points at a PDF, or at dishes typed into Google by hand, a change in your kitchen does not reach the listing until you repeat it there.
DigitalMenuKit updates the page. It does not log in to Google Maps, and it does not overwrite Google's menu editor. The listing stays useful because the link stays the same and the page behind it changes.
1. See what the listing opens today
Open your restaurant on Google Maps and use the menu control. Three results are common. It opens a web page you can edit. It downloads a PDF. Or Maps shows dishes that were typed into the profile, with no link at all. The next step depends on which one you have.
2. If it opens your menu page
Change the price, the description, or the sold-out mark in the panel and publish. The page updates then. Guests who already have the link, including the one on your profile, get the new menu. You do not paste the link again, and the QR code on the table does not change.
Google's own copy of the page can lag. The page you control is current immediately. Maps may show an older look for days. That delay is Google's. A menu tool cannot switch it off, and anyone who promises a minute-by-minute Maps update is guessing.
3. If it opens a PDF
A PDF on the listing is a frozen file. The next price change needs a new file and a new paste, or the listing keeps the old one. Upload that PDF, check the draft, and publish a page. The import steps are in turn a PDF menu into a QR code menu. Then replace the menu link with the new page, using how to add your menu to Google Business Profile. After that, a price change is an edit, not a new file.
4. If the dishes were typed into Google
Those dishes are a second menu. Publishing here does not edit them. Either remove them and use a menu link, or update them by hand every time a price changes. Two copies will disagree. One source will not.
The menu link and the menu editor are different fields. Filling one does not fill the other. DigitalMenuKit only feeds the link, because that is the address of the page you publish.
5. What you still do yourself
Sold-out marks reach the guest menu at once, including from a staff PIN that cannot see prices. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can switch on a schedule. A new print PDF is a download when you want paper to match. None of that writes into Google's menu editor.
A page for every dish, and the structured data on it, exist so Google can read the menu. They do not guarantee where you rank. That limit is the point of restaurant menu SEO. When you are ready to put the link on the listing, create the menu and publish it first. There is no public address to paste until you do.
Frequently asked questions
How fast does Google Maps show the new price?
The page you control changes when you publish. Maps updates when Google recrawls that page. That is usually days, not a promise of minutes.
Do I need a new QR code after a price change?
No. The code points at the menu's address, and that address does not change when the menu does. Print a new PDF only if you also hand guests a paper menu.
Can I update several venues from one login?
Yes. Each venue has its own menu, its own QR code, and its own plan. A price change at one venue does not touch another, and each listing needs its own menu link.
Preview is free. Publishing is $29 a month.
