Printable Restaurant Menu with a QR Code
TL;DRA printable restaurant menu with a QR code is a paper menu and a phone menu that share one list of dishes. The code on the sheet, the table tent or the window poster opens the current menu in the browser. When a price changes, you publish once. The phone menu updates. You download a new PDF only for the paper you still hand out.
DigitalMenuKit prints that sheet from the menu you already edited. Layouts cover A4, A5 and US Letter, a folding table tent, a counter card and a window poster. You can leave the QR code off a sheet that should not have one. Browsing and previewing a template is free. Downloading a PDF of your own menu is part of the paid plan, $29 a month or $199 a year per venue.
What lands on the paper
The price sits in its own column, on the dish's first line. A long name wraps. A description does not run under the price. In more than one column, a section rule meets the one beside it.
You choose the rest. The allergen note, page numbers, logo, descriptions, photos and the QR code can each be left off. Words on the sheet come from the menu's language. The formats are on printable menus. The files are vector PDFs with the fonts embedded.
The code stays. The PDF is a download
The QR code points at the menu's address. Change a price or mark a dish sold out, then publish. The printed code keeps working. You do not reprint the cards because a special sold out.
Paper is different. A PDF is a file from the moment you downloaded it. If the tent in the drawer is last month's, it still shows last month's price until you print again. Download a fresh PDF after you publish, and print that. The code on the new sheet is the same code. Prefer SVG if a shop is printing the code large, dark ink on a light ground.
What is not a free template file
You can open every template and preview it without paying. That preview is not a blank PDF to download and retype in another program. A PDF of your dishes, with your prices, is part of the paid plan. The six sample menus on menu examples are fictional venues. They show a design. They are not files to reprint under your name.
There are 32 print templates and 6 web designs. Starting from one copies the type, the colours and the layout. It does not copy the sample dishes into your restaurant. Import your own PDF, photo, spreadsheet or current page, then read the draft. One import stops at 150 items. The short answer to the free-template question is is a printable restaurant menu free?.
From the sheet to the listing
Paste the menu address, not the PDF, into Google Business Profile if you want Maps to open the live page. The field is the menu link, under Contact. A PDF on that field goes stale at the next price change. The walk-through is how to add the menu link. We do not sign in to Google, and we do not type the dishes into Google's menu editor.
Build the menu in the digital menu maker, or start from the template gallery. Preview is free. Publish when the sheet and the phone should be the same menu. The plan is on pricing. Create the menu only after the preview looks like the room.
