Printable QR code generator for a restaurant menu

By Tuğberk Can ÖzenPublished 5 November 20262 min read

TL;DRPrintable QR code generator output is a code you can put on a table tent, a counter card or a poster. The generator on this site makes that code in your browser from any link, as PNG or SVG, in colours you pick. Nothing you type is sent to us. The code holds the link itself, so it does not expire and nobody can switch it off. That generator is free.

Use the free generator when the link is already yours

Open the QR code generator, paste a link, and download PNG or SVG. No account. Use the SVG for print so the edges stay sharp. Keep a dark code on a light background and print it at least 2 cm wide. Test a paper copy before you print a stack.

This code will not update a price, mark a dish sold out, or translate a menu. It opens whatever address you pasted, and only that address. If the page at the address changes, the code still works. If you need a new address, you need a new code.

Use a menu code when the dishes change

A restaurant that reprints the code every time a special ends is paying for ink to do a job the address can do. Publish the menu, download its code once, and put that on the tent. Prices, sold-out marks and the languages you wrote update on the phone. The printed code stays. Guests do not install an app. The page opens in the browser.

That hosted code is part of publishing, $29 a month or $199 a year per venue. Previewing the menu first is free. There is no free published menu and no trial. A sheet that also lists the dishes is a menu to print. Whether a printed menu can include a code at all is answered in can a printed menu include a QR code.

What not to expect

The free generator does not count scans, and it does not add dishes to Google. Neither a free code nor a published menu can promise a ranking. Do not call the free generator a menu. It is a picture of a link. The code that survives a price change is the paid plan. The same limit is in how to make a QR code menu for free.

Frequently asked questions

Is the printable QR code generator free?

Yes. A code for any link, as PNG or SVG, is free and needs no account. It does not host a menu or update prices.

Which file should I send to a printer?

SVG. It stays sharp at any size. PNG is fine on screen and for a small test print.

Will this code still work if I change the menu later?

A code from the free generator keeps opening the link you pasted. A code from a published DigitalMenuKit menu keeps opening the latest prices without a reprint.
